Fifi is the founder of the Irish Artists’ Film Index, co-founder of the Plastik Film Festival Dublin, a member of Visual Artists Ireland, and AKA*. She has been on selection panels for percent-for-arts projects in Counties Kildare, Offaly, Louth, Meath, Galway, and Dublin. And was secretary of Sculpture in Context annual exhibitions for 5 years and is a long-time member of LUX Critical Forum Dublin.

* AKA was established in 1995 and included sculptors such as Bríd Ní Rinn, Eileen McDonagh, Fifi Smith, the late James McKenna and painters such as James Flack, June Brilly, Leslie Fennel, Patrick Cahill and Elizabeth Cope among its members. Central to this policy is the maintenance of high professional standards while ensuring greater accessibility of members work. Kildare Artists a accreditation was by fulfilling the criteria of standards of the former Association of Artist in Ireland (AAI), now V.A.I. The association held annual exhibition in a venue in County Kildare, AKA published a catalogue of members work in 2000.
